The David Lynch Foundation is a nonprofit organization which partners with schools, military bases, hospitals, prisons, battered women’s and homeless shelters to teach non-religious Transcendental Meditation (TM) techniques to help adults and children overcome post-traumatic stress (PTS), enhance performance and learning ability and promote general well-being. The stress-reducing benefits of TM have been well-documented in numerous studies published in scientific journals such as the American Medical Association’s Archives of Internal Medicine and the American Heart Association’s Stroke and Hypertension. Devotees of Transcendental Meditation include Ellen DeGeneres, Martin Scorsese, and Candy Crowley. Proceeds from the benefit will provide TM programs for at-risk youth in underserved schools, veterans with PTS and their families and women and girls who are victims of violence, abuse and rape. |
